Headquartered in Teton Village, at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in beautiful Jackson, WY, we're a boutique shop with extensive experience working remotely for clients. We offer a full range of outsourced back office solutions; we can support your back office or we can BE your back office. We Were Working Remotely Before Working Remotely Became The New Normal Yes, it can be done. And, yes, we've perfected it. We've been working remotely for our clients, full time, since 2016. We're experts on cloud computing systems and software - we're an Intuit-certified QuickBooks Platinum ProAdvisor, for example - and have a proven track record of building high performance finance and accounting departments from afar. We're Led By A Former Big Four Partner AscendantVG is led by Marco Vargas. Marco spent 20 years at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC), retiring in 2016 having achieved Global Relationship Partner (a very big deal in the Big Four space) where he served clients such as Pemex, Exxon Mobil, WeWork, Nissan and Bombardier. Marco was also actively involved in a long list of private equity, venture capital and M & A deals (including the sale of Don Julio Tequila to Diageo, where Marco represented the selling family). Today, in 2022, at the ripe old age of 51 and with 26 years of solid global experience behind him, Marco enjoys leading a boutique firm, serving as a Fractional CFO, taking a mechanical pencil to complex finance and accounting problems and factoring for "X' and "Y" for real people. We've Solved The Offshoring Riddle As a formal Global Relationship Partner at a Big Four firm, Marco has long-established relationships, contacts and resources worldwide. And he intimately understands what can and cannot, and what should and should not, be offshored to lower cost finance and accounting talent. Simply put, the question of offshoring your back office should never be seen as an all or nothing thing; in other words, yes, there are some portions of the work that can and should be offshored to save money (wake up, AP, we're looking at you here). And then there's other work that should never be offshored (payroll, for example). Bottom line: we're experts at this. We'll offshore the portions that are appropriate, riding herd over those who are tasked with doing that work to ensure its quality and accuracy. But we'll keep the mission-critical portions in the USA and do those ourselves. It's the common sense approach; we save money where we can and spend it where we must.
