Upwork Insights, made by the team behind Upsight, decides how the data below is used. It is not affiliated with Upwork Inc. This page says what the site collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated 31 October 2026.
The agency and freelancer pages show what Upwork displays to any signed-out visitor on a public profile: names, titles, location, earnings, jobs, hours, ratings, badges and rates. We read those pages, store each reading with its date, and publish the figures so owners can see where they stand and clients can compare. We rely on our legitimate interest in publishing an index of public marketplace data. Past readings are kept as the page's history, because the history is how growth is measured; an unlisted page and its history are deleted together. Freelancers whose earnings are hidden on Upwork are not shown. Anyone listed can ask to be corrected or unlisted, with no reason needed, through the claim page or by email; unlisting is done within 24 hours.
Claim form. Agency or profile name, your name, work email, role, the verification code, and whether you want the monthly rank email. We use it to verify the claim and reply to you, because you asked us to; the monthly email is sent only if you ticked the box, on your consent, and you can stop it any time by replying to any email from us.
Open to offers. Agency, your name, email, role, what you are open to, timeline, notes and the valuation range. It is never shown on any page. We use it only to make introductions you asked for, on your consent.
We keep these records while the claim, subscription or conversation is active, and delete them on request.
With your consent, the site loads Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies to count visits, pages viewed, clicks to Upsight and shares. Without consent it loads nothing from Google and sets no analytics cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser, and you can change it any time from Cookie Settings in the footer. The site also remembers your light or dark theme in your browser; that is not sent anywhere.
