How these are computed- Run-rate, measured
- pending
- Needs two observations at least 14 days apart. Our next read of this page turns this on. Nothing is extrapolated from a single contract.
- Lifetime pace
- $5.0K/yr estimate
- Lifetime earnings divided by years on Upwork. A floor on historical pace, not a forecast.
- Earnings per job
- $1.7K
- Average contract value to date.
- Recent earnings, per Upwork
- $0
- The "recent" figure Upwork attaches to the directory card. Upwork does not publish the window, so it is shown as its number, not ours.
- Realised hourly
- $31/hr
- Total earned over billed hours. Fixed-price work inflates it; compare with the rate card.

About
IDW Innovation Studio is a nearshore hardware development team based in Yucatán, Mexico. We help founders and small teams turn early hardware ideas into real, manufacturable products — with industrial design, electronics, mechanical engineering, packaging, prototyping, and render animation all under one roof. Unlike typical Upwork setups, we’re not a collection of disconnected freelancers. We are a unified studio, working side-by-side in the same space, which allows us to deliver faster, avoid miscommunication, and ensure every decision is aligned with manufacturability from day one. Our core capabilities include: • Mechanical design & DFM • Industrial design & user experience • Electronics development • Prototyping & testing (3D printing, machining, electronics bench) • Packaging design • Render animations & visuals • Production sourcing in China or Mexico What clients appreciate most: • Clear technical guidance — we accept only projects we’re confident we can deliver. • Integrated team — no need to coordinate multiple freelancers. • Manufacturability-first approach — avoid costly prototype loops. • Honest feedback — if a concept has risks, we point them out early. • Real-world results — our work has supported successful Kickstarter launches (Tru) and products currently selling in the market (Flora). If you’re working on a consumer device or a hardware product and want a partner who actually builds and tests things — not just designs them on a laptop — we’d be happy to help.
