Every agency and freelancer figure is what Upwork shows an anonymous, signed-out visitor on a public page: total earned, jobs, hours, Job Success Score, badges, hourly rate, team size and member-since date. No. Lifetime earnings, jobs, hours and scores are the figures Upwork itself publishes on each page. Only three things are computed, and each is labelled where it appears: the run-rate between two readings of a page, the lifetime pace, and the Index Score. Run-rate and Index Score →
Pages are re-read on a rolling schedule, claimed pages weekly, and every agency page shows when it was last observed. The current index was built on Oct 31, 2026. A run-rate appears once a page has been read twice at least 14 days apart. Freshness and scope →
28,921 agencies across 89 Upwork directory categories and 149 countries, with $3.13B in combined lifetime earnings. Plus 11,743 freelancers whose public profile shows at least $10,000 in lifetime earnings. Insights →
Categories are crawled one at a time, each completely before the next is added, so an agency in a category not yet crawled is missing for now. Agencies with no earnings, or that hide their earnings on Upwork, are not ranked. Claiming the page adds it to the next read. Claim your page →
The default ranking is lifetime Upwork earnings as published on each page. The Index Score (0-100) is an alternative sort: scale 40 (log of lifetime earnings), quality 20 (Job Success Score), trust 15 (badges), momentum 15 (measured run-rate or recency) and team 10 (size). Index Score →
